    Key Requirements to obtain a visa for the USA

    Academic

    • Bachelor’s Program :– All educational certificates + minimum 5.5 in IELTS / TOEFL (iBT) should be between 70-89
    • Master’s Program :– Minimum 65-70% in Bachelor’s + English Proficiency + GRE minimum 290

    Documentation

    There are three types of visas for which students apply:

    Language Abilities

    Following are the entrance exams for checking English Language Proficiency. Obtaining a minimum required score in any one of them is mandatory to apply for any course:
    • IELTS :– International English Language Testing System (IELTS) tests English language skills by dividing it into four sections; reading, writing, listening and speaking. The test needs to be completed in the duration of 2 hrs and 45 min with a minimum score of 6-6.5
    • TOEFL :– Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) takes place in two formats namely; internet based (minimum score required is 80) and paper based (Minimum score required is 540)

    • GMAT :– The Graduate Management Admission Test is a required by those who wish to pursue management and business. It has a validity of five years and minimum score requirements are different for each course and college
    • GRE :– Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for applying for engineering and masters in the USA
    • SAT :– Scholaristic Aptitude Test (SAT) is accepted by a few universities like Harvard.
